Like his twin brother, Brett, Rory developed a lust for skiing at a very early age while skiing in the Lake Tahoe, CA area. In High School, Rory flirted briefly with ski racing, ultimately opting to chase untracked snow while attending college first in Montana, and eventually settling in Utah with his brother and Erik. Rory competed in numerous big-mountain freeskiing events during this time, placing second in an international freeskiing competition in New Zealand in 2002. His unique, hard-charging, progressive style influenced by pro skiers, snowboarders, and of course his bother is immediately noticeable. Rory moved up to Alaska in 2005 with his brother to work on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and ski. On Alaska, his new home, he remarks, “when you’re standing atop a 3000 ft peak looking at the ocean on one side and the bottom of your run on the other with nothing but a fresh white canvas between, you truly know what it’s like to be free.” Rory is also a cinematographer for Binge. and eventually plans on using his
engineering knowledge to start a ski manufacture company with his brother called Broskis.
