At five years of age Brett was already on his way to becoming an accomplished skier in the Lake Tahoe area. Growing up in Reno, Nevada, he spent much of his childhood developing an obsession for snow at Kirkwood Resort alongside his twin brother, Rory, and his ski patroller dad. After high school Brett moved to Salt Lake City where he skied a number of different resorts, eventually making Brighton Resort his home because of its incredibly deep snow, and its “user friendly” attitude towards backcountry ski fanatics. It was this experience that fully ignited Brett’s passion to escape the resorts whilst chasing deeper and deeper snow. He managed to achieve a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah during this time, studying, skiing, and filming with Erik Gabrielson. In 2005, after completing his degree Brett moved to Alaska after pressure from Erik and Chase. He spent his first year in AK working in the oilfields, trying to master the art of sledding, and nursing a blown-out knee incurred while skiing a groomed
run at a resort. Brett is an accomplished artist, cinematographer and editor. He brings to
the Binge. crew not only his talented skiing, but also his innovative approach towards
design and filmmaking.
